A beautiful weekend in Brittas Bay enjoyed by so many. I hoped this would be one weekend that wouldnt be spoiled by fire. Sadly someone had to oblige. Hope they feel proud of themselves.

Brittas Bay Coastcare have reached out to potential Brittas Bay beach users in the Wicklow town area by holding a seminar with the students in Colaiste Cill Mhaintain in Wicklow. As a result the college have forged links with our group. Well done to Steven from Brittas Bay Coastcare and Michelle from An Taisce

Daytrippers in Brittas Bay on this fine Sunday afternoon had 82 cars parked on the road at 3.50pm while both car paks were closed. If it is financially beyond Wicklow County Council to open the parks, perhaps they could flatten the strip on the farside of the road where cars could be parked in off the road without endangering pedestrians or motorists.

Thanks to all who took part in the back breaking ground clearing at Brittas Bridge yesterday in the teeming rain. We were so knackered it was forgotten to photograph the event for posterity. We are particularly greatful to Hugh from Billabong Surfing Club who assisted so energetically and unselfishly.

While continuing with the monthly beach clean ups, Brittas Bay Coastcare are also engaged in coastal erosion activities and adding a coastal theme to the R750 by planting marram grass patches under the road signs. We are also preparing for the Pure Mile contest which is aimed at making Brittas Bay more attractive to tourist and resident alike.
